Vacation Sam returns!
 

Vacation Sam, our fruited milkshake IPA series, returns to the Boston Brewery on June 30th! First brewed in 2021, Vacation Sam was inspired by the pandemic. After not being able to travel for over a year, we wanted to give folks a sense of escape right here in our Beer Garden so we filled the space with palm trees, plastic flamingos, and brewed vacation-inspired beers. 

The series kicked off with the release of Pina Colada IPA. This milkshake IPA uses pineapple puree and Sabro hops, which give off coconut aromas, to recreate our favorite pina colada flavors. The result is a refreshing, tropical IPA that turns any summer day into your own long-awaited oasis. In the fall of 2022, we submitted Pina Colada IPA to the Experimental IPA category of the Great American Beer Festival, where it took home a silver award in an increasingly competitive class of beers. After a celebratory brew this winter, Pina Colada IPA will make another return in all its glory on June 30th just in time for summer. 

Mango Guava, a brewery favorite, was an obvious choice for this series. A tropical twist of an hazy milkshake IPA, Mango Guava IPA is made with both mango and guava puree, giving it the flavor profile a fresh fruit overtone that is rounded out by lactose for a velvety mouthfeel. For a finishing touch, we aged this IPA on a bed of vanilla beans to add an unexpectedly balanced and mellow finish.  

We brewed the first iteration of Blackberry Scoop in the dead of winter this year, the epitome of wishful thinking. Blackberry Scoop is a milkshake IPA with blackberry puree that drinks like a fruity, refreshing scoop of a hot summer day. Dry hopped with Citra and El Dorado hops, this beer balances sweetness with a dry, clean finish. Blackberry Scoop hits like a summer treat on a toasty summer day.  

The full line-up of Vacation Sam beers will return on draft and in 4-pk cans for a release party on June 30th at the Boston Brewery. To celebrate, we’ll have live music, BBQ from veteran-owned local pop-up, Code1 BBQ, lawn games, and of course the return of our palm trees and flamingos. Join us to kick off summer!
